Most companies have a product or service that is effected by the market or current events. A very effective radio advertising tip is to have commercials planned around whats popular in the news to grab the consumers attention. When the fires spread across Southern California this last year you probably heard an onslaught of insurance companies and fire retardant paint companies on the airwaves. What better way to attract a consumers attention then when they are in of or considering your product the most.

Radio is a great advertising venue for news topical advertising for many reasons. First, smart advertisers can have “canned,” radio copy ready to air as soon as the time is right. For instance in Southern California when heavy rain starts hitting, a rain gutter company might start advertising when the weather is right. If you don’t have a “canned,” radio ad it is still ok. Most radio stations can make copy and have it up and running within a day or two. Radio has the fastest turnover of any major advertising venue available.
